Bolling family genealogical notes, 1646-1869.

Consists of genealogical notes, printed and manuscript, concerning the descendants of Robert Bolling. He was born in 1646 in London, England, and arrived in Virginia in 1660, marrying Jane (1675), grand-daughter of John Rolfe (1585-1622) and Princess Pocahontas (ca. 1595-1617), whose father was Powhatan (d. 1618) emperor of the indians. Robert Bolling lived in Kippax, Prince George County, Virginia, and died in 1709. The printed text was written around the time of the Revolutionary War by Robert Bolling (1738-ca. 1773) of the Chellowe Estate, Buckingham County, Virginia, and was translated from the original French manuscript by Judge John Robertson, Jr., in 1803. The manuscript notes, written by J. C. H., annotate the printed text. There is an excursus concerning Edmund Randolph (1753-1813).
